Welcome to the Driver Theory Test Booking Service.  The Road Safety Authority work in partnership with Prometric who have developed this secure website. 

You are able to process a booking, reschedule a booking and cancel a booking.  All booking details will be confirmed via email.

Please ensure you select the correct category of test, as these cannot be changed at the test centre.

Special Accommodations
You are able to book a voiceover on line.  If you require special accommodations for the exam such as a reader or a translator these cannot be processed online. Please email your name and contact number to theorytesthelp@prometric.com and one of our agents will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your requirements, or you can call 1890 606 406 and our staff will be happy to help.

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy
You must cancel or reschedule a booking no later than 3 complete business days prior to the appointment date.  An example of this is a booking on a Friday, you would need to contact us by the previous Monday.  This can be done online or by contacting our Contact Centre on 1890 606 106 (Lo-call rate) they are open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.

Identification Requirements
One acceptable valid proof of identity.  The following are acceptable, a passport; an employee or student identity card; a Garda National Age Card; a Convention travel document with the name and photo of the holder; a bank or post office savings book; a cheque book; a cheque, or credit card; a credit union membership card; a book issued for payment of social welfare allowances, benefits or pensions, a free travel card or a signing-on-card issued by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs; a medical card issued in the state, a birth certificate; a marriage certificate; an Immigration Certificate of Registration issued by the GNIB.

For category C (Truck) and D (Bus), you must bring your current category B driving license with you, it must be an Irish driving license or one from another EU Member state, or from Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.  Any candidates arriving without the correct identification will not be allowed to test.  You must also arrive at the test centre 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
